April 1945 : Belgian Auxiliary Air Police Service : BAAPS I (detached to the 9th U.S. Army Air Force) & BAAPS II (detached to the 2nd Tactical Air Force, Royal Air Force). 1946 : Politie en Wacht van het Militaire Vliegwezen - Police et Garde de l'Aviation Militaire (Military Aviation Police and Guards) 1948 : TDP-VTP Troupes de Défence et de Police - Verdedigings- en Politietroepen (Defense and Police Unites) Upon disbandment this unit forms the nucleus of the Air Commando's and the Air Force Police. 1951 : UDA-VVE Unités de Défense des Aérodromes - Vliegveld Verdedigings Eenheden (Airport Defense Units) 1953 : Air-Commando 1966 : IBE-UPI Installatie Beveiligings Eenheden - Unités de Protection des Installations (Installation Security Units) 1987 : Air Commando (note the hyphen is gone) with 3 degrees / skill levels : “Airfuselier”, “Air Commando” and “Higher Certificate Air Commando” 1988 - 1990 : a shortlived EIS Escadron d'Intervention - Interventie Smaldeel (Intervention Squadron) was formed 2004 : Integrated Security 2010 : Force Protection & Strike Security - But they are still commonly known, and probably always will be, as the Air Commando´s. 1951 : Air Force Police Squadrons 1960 : Air Force Police Flights 2002 : Air Component Police Flights
